You're traveling through the desert for several days, and you see nothing but an endless ocean of sand.

Your food is gone and you're running out of water. The desert is claiming your soul, and it's only a matter of time before you fall.

You keep walking until dusk comes, and then you see a shape in the distance, towers and walls with strange colors that keep changing every time you look. When you get closer, you see nothing but mundane stone.

The gates slowly open for you, but you see no living soul around.

What do you do?

The Slumbering City is a short adventure loosely inspired by the Conan short story "Xuthal of the Dusk". As my entry for the #rpglatam jam, it was made to be compatible with Pacts & Blades, a game made by the Brazilian author Lucas Rollim, but, except for the monster's stats, the text is fully system-agnostic and can be easily used as a random desert encounter for any fantasy setting.

The PDF has 3  pages, the first to print as a 4-fold pamphlet, and the second in mini-zine format. The third page is the dungeon map and descriptions, which can be printed behind the pamphlet/mini-zine or separately.

The city map is available for free in the download demo section.

Special thanks to C.A. Berlitz, who revised the text and helped me correct a lot of spelling mistakes!
